The Town of Rocky Mount, Virginia set in the beautiful rolling hills of the western Blue Ridge Mountains, has been the seat of Franklin County since its formation in 1786. Bordered by serene farmlands and majestic forested ridges, Rocky Mount is a thriving small town that serves as the county's government, service, and business center.
Rocky Mount is located at a primary crossroads at the geographical center of Franklin County. The town provides services to many smaller rural communities, yet is within easy access to the larger cities of Roanoke Virginia, Greensboro North Carolina and only 20 miles from scenic Smith Mountain Lake.
From Highway 220
Take the 2nd Rocky Mount exit which will be Route 40. Turn left and head into Rocky Mount. At 4th traffic light (at Courthouse), turn left onto East Court Street. We are the 4th building on the right, counting the Courthouse as #1. Our office is a two-story white house between the Virgil H. Goode Building and the old Franklin County Library.
