Franklin County Community Garden
The Franklin County Community Garden provides space for residents to garden, compost, and grow their own food and flowers. The garden is open to any resident who is interested and committed to caring for their own plot. Residents must reserve a plot by completing and submitting an agreement form.
The goals of the garden are to provide access to garden space, educate people about gardening, improve nutrition, increase access to fresh low-cost produce, build bridges between neighbors and communities, and generally make Franklin County cleaner and greener.
The garden promotes good natural resource management as it pertains to gardening. We encourage conserving water, recycling garden waste, and implement sustainable and environmentally safe pest control practices in the garden.
The garden is a member-driven program. When community members have the access and knowledge to create greenspace and grow their own food, neighborhoods are empowered to create their own solutions.
